9/17/2021 | 21-0661 | Evading | At 4:59 pm an officer observed a vehicle that ran a stop sign at the intersection of Rutgers//Cason. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle for the violation. The suspect failed to stop for an emergency vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended when the suspect wrecked. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody. An investigation of the scene led to the discovery of a handgun and drugs. The suspect, Charles Hamlin, was charged with evading, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
