An officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire Blvd. regarding a theft that already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered two employees were taking funds from the establishment without consent.

Officers were dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby to speak with a complainant.  Upon arrival, the complainant alleges that their former spouse committed acts of child endangerment.

Theft 

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby regarding a theft by deception that already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect, posing as an employee of a bank, contacted the victim to inform them of recent fraudulent activity. The suspect instructed the victim to withdraw money from the account and deposit the funds into a Bitcoin account where the money would be protected from future fraud transactions. The victim complied, then realized the scam, resulting in a monetary loss.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Lobby regarding a harassment incident.  Upon arrival, it was discovered the victim was being harassed by an unknown suspect claiming to be an investigator with Child Protective Services.

An officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Robinhood regarding a minor accident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown driver of a vehicle collided with a parked vehicle and fled the scene. The suspect failed to stop and give information.

Driving While License Invalid

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5300 block of Buffalo Speedway. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana. The driver also did not a have valid drivers license or insurance. The driver (Kalen Cheeks) was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

The driver (Kalen Cheeks) has no previous criminal history.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3600 block of University Blvd. Through investigation, it was discovered the driver had outstanding warrants with Harris County PCT.1. The warrants were confirmed, and the driver was taken into custody.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, an odor of marijuana emanated from or about the vehicle.  A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver and through investigation, it was discovered the driver was operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a child passenger. The driver (Tabi Chu) was arrested and charged with DWI 3rd Offense with a Child Passenger. 

The driver (Tabi Chu) has a previous criminal history of a DWI.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Lobby regarding an identity theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect used the victim’s personal information to open numerous credit card accounts without consent.

An officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Byron regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect entered an unsecured vehicle and took items without consent.

Virtual Gate Hit 

An officer was dispatched to the 6800 block of Academy regarding a suspicious vehicle affiliated with two recent vehicle burglaries in West U. Upon arrival, officers located and stopped the vehicle.  The driver was found to have outstanding warrants with South Houston Police Department and was taken into custody. Through investigation, the driver admitted to burglarizing vehicles in West U. The driver (Jonathan Canizales) was charged with Aggregate Class A Theft. 

The driver (Jonathan Canizales) has a previous criminal history of Assault.

An officer met with an outside agency to pick up a subject for outstanding municipal warrants with the West University Place Police Department. Upon arrival, the officer obtained custody of the subject who was then transferred to the West University Place Jail for booking.
