| 21-0463 | Burglary of Motor Vehicle | At approximately 6:10 PM, police officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of Tangley Street on a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle that had already occurred. Police Officers were told that the victim had an item removed from his vehicle by the suspect without his consent. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

05/22/2021 | 21-0465 | ALPR Hit | At 12:27 PM, officers were notified by dispatch of a vehicle that traveled through the Automated License Plate Reader at Belmont and West Holcombe for a vehicle listed in the system for a person with warrants. Officers located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop, and after further investigation the individual (Joseph Patrick Shaw) was placed in custody for multiple outstanding Capias SETCIC warrants. 05/24/2021 | 21-0467 | Possession of Marijuana | At approximately 09:04 AM, an officer observed a vehicle with an expired registration sticker travelling eastbound in the 3100 block of Sunset. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle and / or the driver. After further investigation, a small amount of marijuana was discovered. The driver of the vehicle chose to enter the Misdemeanor Marijuana Diversion Program (MMDP). Information and evidence was gathered and a report was generated.

| At approximately 2:33 PM an officer of the West University Place Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. After further investigation a small amount of marijuana was discovered. The driver was offered the Misdemeanor Marijuana Diversion Program in which she accepted. The marijuana was dropped into evidence and a report was generated.

05/24/2021 | 21-0469 | Fraud | At approximately 6:22 PM, an officer was dispatched to the police station lobby in regards to a report for a theft by deception that had already occurred. The complainant advised she was contacted by her supervisor requesting the complainant to purchase gift cards and to send her the card numbers. The complainant contacted police upon discovering that she was deceived and never contacted by her supervisor.

The victim stated an unknown person(s) used their identifying information to file benefits with the Texas Work Force Commission. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
