WEEKLY CURBSIDE BULK TRASH
What is bulk trash?
Bulk trash is large items that are not considered typical household trash. The curbside bulk trash program will allow you to dispose of items that do not fit in a trash bag, such as small Do-It-Yourself home projects, small broken furniture (bar stools, chairs, etc) and miscellaneous bulky items.
What days will bulk trash be collected?
Beginning in January 2018, curbside bulk trash will be collected twice a week during your regularly scheduled trash day (Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday).
How much bulk trash can I place out each week?
A good rule of thumb is to limit bulk trash to a 5 foot-0 inches by 5 foot-0 inches area. This will assist the crews and allow them to collect the entire route in a timely manner.
If items are unacceptable, what do I do with it?
For those items not accepted curbside, we would encourage you to contact a private waste hauler to dispose of the items. You may also reference the "What To Do With It" feature on our West U collects page for more information.
What should I do with usable items?
If you have items that you would like to donate (useable household items, furniture, bikes, clothes, etc.), there are a wide variety of charities that are located near West U.
What should I do with electronics and mattresses?
Mattresses and e-waste (electronics) is not accepted curbside but will be collected during the City's shredding events that are held the first Saturday of May and November between 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Visit our special events page for more details.
