A $13.8 million bond referendum to redevelop the West University Recreation Center, Colonial Park, and Community/Senior Center was passed by voters on November 4, 2008. The City was also fortunate to have $1 million available for the West University Place Recreation Center from the matching of funds of the Friends of West University Parks and the Lewis Family.
