The Teen Citizen Police Academy is an educational and informational program modeled after the West University Place Police Academy. The teen academy is designed for high school students to have an interactive experience and aims to provide teens with an inside look at real-world law enforcement and the work happening every day at the West U Police Department.
Participants will take part in hands-on activities, learn directly from officers, and explore how policing works in their community. From understanding patrol operations to learning about laws that directly affect teens, the academy offers a behind-the-scenes perspective few students get to experience. In addition, students will have the opportunity to build positive connections with local law enforcement.
