What is National Night Out:

National Night Out (NNO) is a yearly nationwide initiative that promoted police-community partnership and neighborhood that promoted police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhood safer. The best way to build safer community is to get to know your neighbors; police encourage interaction as a crime prevention tool.  Neighbors that get to know each other are more likely to watch out for each other and report suspicious activities.  NNO is held on the first Tuesday in October from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Notes for Potential Coordinators:

Are you planning a neighborhood party celebration for National Night Out?  Invite West U First Responders to stop by your event. The City of West University Place holds online NNO event registration beginning August 29th.  Registration will end September 19th, or when spots are filled.

Your NNO Registration Request is not considered confirmed until you receive a confirmation email and/or phone call from the West University Place Police Department.  In the event you do not hear back from us regarding your request, please call Officer Wilson at 713-668-0330 or email Kwilson@westutx.gov

Please note First Responder requests and barricades are limited to 15 block parties.  Once spots are filled, a waiting list will be established. First Responder’s attendance at NNO cannot be guaranteed due to manpower and public safety call load, but every effort is made to accommodate all requests every year.
