Insurance
If you have insurance, you must present a valid insurance card or policy which was in effect on the date and time of your offense. Upon verification of insurance coverage, your citation will be presented to the Judge for review and a decision will be made about dismissal. The insurance agency will be contacted by telephone to verify coverage. You may provide proof of insurance in person or email to court@westutx.gov before your appearance date.
Fail to Report Change of Address
You may request that the citation be dismissed if the violation is corrected within twenty working days of the issuance. To request a dismissal, you must enter a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, provide the court with a receipt, and pay the required $20 compliance dismissal fee.
Expired Registration
You may request that the citation be dismissed if the violation is corrected within thirty working days of the issuance. To request a dismissal, you must enter a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, provide the court with a Registration Renewal Receipt, and pay the required $20 compliance dismissal fee.
Defective Equipment
You may request that the citation be dismissed if the violation is corrected within thirty working days of the issuance. To request a dismissal, you must enter a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, provide the court with a receipt, and pay the required $10 compliance dismissal fee.
All documents may be submitted in person or emailed to court@westutx.gov before your appearance date.
This does not guarantee you that you will be granted dismissal. After you submit your documents, the Clerk will email you the information on the amount of the fee and how to pay the fee. PLEASE DO NOT pay prior to receiving the email from the Clerk. Your request will be reviewed by the court and you will be contacted once a determination has been reached on your eligibility.
