The City of West University Place is excited to announce its new emergency notification system, West U READY! Residents who sign up for West U READY will receive alerts in the event there is an emergency situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, or property.
West U READY Alert Indicators:
- Shelter In Place Incidents
- Evacuation Incidents
- Immediate danger to life and safety
If you were signed up for the City’s previous emergency notification system, your information has been transferred, but you are encouraged to log into the new system to verify that your information is still current, or to add new family members to your account! With customizable notification preferences, subscribers can receive West U READY alerts by phone call, text message, and/or email.
West U READY Alerts will not be sent for operational updates:
- Trash, yard waste, or recycling schedule disruptions
- Water service disruptions*
- Office closures
Residents are encouraged to sign up for day-to-day notifications through NotifyMe. West U READY Alerts are not replacing the City's day-to-day notification system. Park events, office closures, water service interruptions, and holiday trash, yard waste, and recycling schedules will still be sent through Notify Me.
