Unlawful Carry of a Weapon/ Possession of a Controlled Substance/Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

An officer located a stolen vehicle in the 3800 block of Weslayan. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were detained. A handgun along with narcotics were located within the vehicle. The driver, Gerardo Manzo, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful carry of a weapon.     The passenger was released from the scene. 

The driver has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

While on scene, an additional victim stated their vehicle had also been burglarized while parked in the 2800 block of Sunset. An unknow suspect had entered the unsecured vehicle taking items without consent.

Possession of a Controlled Substance 

Officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire regarding a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle began to leave the area. A traffic stop was conducted in the 3200 block of W. Holcombe. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search led to the discovery of drugs, resulting in the arrest of the driver, Joshi Esperance, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The driver has no criminal history in Harris County.

An officer responded to a theft that already occurred in the 4100 block of University Blvd.  A suspect, posing as a solicitor, approached the victim about potential work. The suspect complimented the victim’s jewelry and asked to take a picture. When the victim handed it to the suspect, the suspect took the jewelry and fled the scene.
