An officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby in reference to a criminal mischief that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered and an unknown suspect caused damage to a window without consent.

An officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Bellaire Blvd. for a minor accident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown vehicle struck their vehicle and caused minor damage. The driver of the suspect vehicle left the location without stopping to give any information.

Failed To Comply with Duties Upon Striking a Fixed Object

An officer was dispatched to the 5400 block of Buffalo Speedway regarding a single vehicle accident. Through investigation it was discovered a vehicle had collided with a light pole causing damage and left the scene prior to police arrival.     Officers identified and located the vehicle in Houston.

Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon 

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable cause search led to the discovery of drugs and a handgun. The driver, Calvin France, was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon. 

The driver has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

Virtual Gate Hit 

Officers responded to the 4700 block of Bissonnet regarding a vehicle displaying a stolen license plate. Upon locating the vehicle, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The driver was detained, and an investigation revealed that an unknown individual had switched the vehicle's rear plate with a stolen one, resulting in the vehicle displaying two different plates. The stolen license plate was recovered, and the driver was released without incident.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department regarding a reported fraud incident. Upon investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect intercepted a mailed check, forged it, and cashed it without authorization.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Plumb. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Rice in reference to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was determined the suspect was in mental distress. The individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Virtual Gate Hit 

Officers were dispatched to the 5300 block of Sewanee regarding a Virtual Gate alert for a stolen U-Haul vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The driver and passenger were detained without incident. A search of the vehicle uncovered various drugs, mail not belonging to them, and identifying information of other individuals.

The driver was identified as Dannan Doeden, and the passenger, who initially provided a false name, was later identified as Tara Sturgeon. Both suspects had outstanding warrants and were arrested accordingly. Additionally, the driver was charged with possession of a controlled substance and auto theft, while the passenger was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges are pending further investigation.

The driver, Dannan Doeden, has a criminal history in Harris County, including theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance (two counts), aggravated assault-family member, and fraud-possession of identifying information.

The passenger, Tara Sturgeon, has a criminal history in Harris County, including theft (aggregate), possession of a controlled substance (two counts), fraud-possession of identifying information, and fraudulent destruction.

Criminal Trespass 

Officers responded to the 3200 block of University Blvd regarding a residential burglary in progress. Upon arrival, an officer encountered a suspect who had attempted to enter an unoccupied residence, claiming to be the new owner of the property. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect was attempting to mislead officers. The suspect, Conner Litka, was arrested for criminal trespassing.

The suspect has no criminal history in Harris County.
