Pursuit 

An officer observed a vehicle making an illegal turn in the 5300 block of Kirby. A traffic stop was initiated, but the vehicle evaded. A pursuit was then initiated, but ended in the 1700 block of West Loop North, where the vehicle crashed. The driver (Keon Dent) was taken into custody for Evading. 

The driver has extensive criminal history out of Illinois.

Theft 
An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered the victim had items that were taken from their home without consent.

Identity Theft 

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby in reference to an identity theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown person(s) added information to the victim’s bank account without consent.

Virtual Gate 

Officers were alerted to a hit on the virtual gate camera system in regards to a stolen vehicle. The located and traffic stop was initiated in the 3900 block of Bellaire. Through investigation it was discovered that the actual vehicle was not stolen, but the license plate displayed on the vehicle was connected to a stolen car. The license plate was removed from the vehicle and the driver was released.

Pursuit 

An officer observed a vehicle conduct a traffic violation while traveling in the 5300 block of Kirby. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. The suspect vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated, but ended after officers lost sight of the vehicle. Through investigation, Officers were able to identify, locate, and arrest the suspect (Christopher Mendoza) for evading.  

The suspect has no previous criminal history.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby in reference to a theft that already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect stole a package from the victim’s front porch without consent.

An officer was dispatched to the 3900 block of Bellaire Blvd. in regards to found property. An officer arrived and took possession of the item for safekeeping.
