Evading 

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Cason. The vehicle failed to stop leading officers in a pursuit.  The pursuit ended as the vehicle neared a dead-end street. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and the driver was detained. Upon investigation, it was discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant. The driver, Ronaldo Perez, was arrested for the warrant and additionally charged with evading.

Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle  

An officer was dispatched to the 3300 block of Tangley regarding a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect had attempted to enter a work trailer to take items without permission. The trailer's owner confronted the suspect, who then fled the scene in a vehicle. Nothing was taken.

An officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of Nottingham in reference to a burglary of a vehicle that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect entered an unsecured vehicle taking items without consent.

An officer was dispatched to the intersection of Rice/Buffalo Speedway in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect took an item from a construction site without consent.

An officer was dispatched to meet with an outside agency who had a suspect detained with outstanding West University Place municipal warrants. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the West University Place Jail for booking.

Criminal Mischief 

An officer was dispatched to the 3300 block of Bissonnet in reference to a criminal mischief incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect had damaged the window of the victim’s vehicle without consent.

Assault  

Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Emory in reference to a disturbance that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that a physical altercation had taken place. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges at the time. The facts of the case were reviewed with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which declined assault charges. The victim and suspect remained separated.

Pursuit 

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 6400 block of Kirby Dr. The vehicle failed to stop, leading officers in a pursuit. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and the officer conducted a high risk traffic stop. The suspect resisted arrest while being taken into custody. The driver, Isaiah Bowers, was charged with evading with a motor vehicle.

Fraud 

An officer was dispatched to the 6000 block of Charlotte in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim received a phone call from a suspect posing as a bank representative. The suspect claimed there was fraudulent activity on the victim’s account and provided step-by-step instructions to cancel the transactions. While following these instructions, the victim unknowingly sent additional funds to the suspect. After realizing it was a scam, the victim contacted police for assistance.
