Warrant Arrest 

An officer was dispatched to meet with an outside agency who had a subject detained for outstanding warrants with the City of West University Place. Upon arrival, the officer took custody of the subject, who was transported to West U Jail for processing.

BMV 

An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect forced entry into a vehicle and took items without consent.

Criminal Mischief 

An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of Bissonnet in reference to a possible burglary of a habitation in progress. Upon arrival, it was discovered a male suspect had forced entry into a residential backyard then fled the scene. Officer searched the area for the suspect, locating the induvial nearby. Through investigation, it was determined the individual/suspect was in mental distress. The individual was transported to a local hospital under an Emergency Dentition Order for a mental evaluation.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.  A probable cause search led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Unlawful Carry of a Weapon

An officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the 3000 block of Nottingham. Upon arrival the officer located the vehicle and detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer conducted a probable cause search which led to the discovery of marijuana and a stolen firearm. The driver, Robert Rios, was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon  

 

Robert Rios has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

DWI

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 6800 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of an acholic beverage emanating from or about the vehicle. A field sobriety test was administer and the driver, Chuhwudozie Ajide, was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. 

Chuhwudozie Ajide has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

Virtual Gate Hit 

Officers responded to a virtual gate hit in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officer located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit traveled throughout Houston and ended in a single vehicle accident in the 1800 block of Rice Blvd. The suspect fled on foot in an unknow direction and was not located. The stolen vehicle was recovered.

Evading 

An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Buffalo Speedway. The vehicle initially stopped but then accelerated as the officer approached, prompting a pursuit. The vehicle continued to make erratic movements to evade the police. Officers were able to deploy a tire deflation device ultimately ending the pursuit. The driver, Nanci Matul, was arrested and charged with evading in a motor vehicle. 

 

Nanci Matul  does not have previous criminal history in Harris County.

DWI / Assault of a Public Servant

Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Wroxton regarding a recent accident. Upon arrival, they located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Harrison Nevins. The officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver, who also showed signs of intoxication. A field sobriety test was initiated but could not be completed due to the driver's condition and safety concerns.

A blood warrant was obtained and executed. The driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. During the booking process, he became aggressive toward officers and was additionally charged with assault of a public servant.

 

Harrison Nevins has no prior criminal history in Harris County.
