Fraud

An officer was dispatched to the 3000 block of Lafayette in reference to a fraud incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect deceived the victim into purchasing gift cards under false pretenses and provide the identifying information.

Traffic Stop 

An Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 5200 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon further investigation, it was discovered the license plate did not belong to the vehicle. The driver was cited, and the license plate was confiscated.

An officer observed two vehicles racing as they traveled in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. The Officer conducted a traffic stop on one of the vehicle's and later placed the driver (Joe Martinez) in custody for Racing on Highway.

The driver (Joe Martinez) has no previous criminal history.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver (Kya Glover) was later placed into custody for Reckless Driving.

The driver (Kya Glover) has no previous criminal history.

An officer met with an outside agency to pick up a subject for outstanding municipal warrants with the West University Place Police Department. Upon arrival, the officer obtained custody of the subject who was then transferred to the West University Place Jail for booking.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in reference to a fraud incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect deceived the victim into withdrawing funds from their bank account and depositing it to a Bitcoin.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to an ID theft incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered the victims personal identifying information was on the dark web without consent.

Unlawful Carry of a Weapon

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Nottingham. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery of marijuana, controlled substance and a loaded handgun. The driver (Cindy Chaclan-Moncada) was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

The driver (Cindy Chaclan-Moncada) has no previous criminal history.

Officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Bellaire Blvd in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect took a package from the front door of the business without consent. It was later discovered that the package was delivered late and no offense occurred.

DWI

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from or about the vehicle. The driver displayed signs of intoxication, and the driver refused to comply with a field sobriety test. A blood warrant was obtained and executed on the driver (Rosa Del Milagro Ramos), who was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. The driver has no previous criminal history.

Officers were dispatched to the 6400 block of Wakeforest in reference to a theft that just occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect took construction equipment from a construction site then fled the scene.

Burglary of a Residence

Officers responded to a burglary alarm at a residence in the 3800 block of University Blvd. Upon arrival, it was discovered that there were signs of forced entry into the residence. Officers were unable to locate any suspects at the time and it was later determined that the unknown suspect(s) removed property from the residence without the owners consent.
