Fraud

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Vanderbilt in regard to a fraud incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect opened financial accounts under the victim’s name without their consent.

Found Property 

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in regard to found property.  An officer arrived and took possession of the item for safekeeping.

An officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Bissonnet in regard to a burglary of a motor vehicle that already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown person(s) forced entry into the secured vehicle and took personal belongings without consent.

Warrant Arrest

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Bissonnet. During the traffic stop, it was discovered both occupants in the vehicle were in Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and had outstanding warrants. The occupants were taken into custody and transported to Harris County Jail.

An officer was dispatched to the 6100 block of Auden in regard to a minor accident that had already occurred. The victim said an unknown person operating a vehicle struck their vehicle and left without providing any information.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in regard to a harassment issue that had already occurred.

Animal Bite 

An officer was dispatched to the 6400 block of Brompton in regard to a Dog Bite that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered the victim’s dog was bitten by an aggressive dog causing injuries. The owner of the aggressive dog was found and received a citation.

Animal Bite 

An officer was dispatched to the 5500 block of Community in regard to a possible assault that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined an assault had occurred as a result of an animal bite incident. Both parties were issued citations.

Warrant Service 

An officer met with an outside agency to pick up a subject for outstanding municipal warrants with the West University Place Police Department. Upon arrival, the officer obtained custody of the subject who was then transferred to the West University Place Jail for booking.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6700 block of Weslayan. During the traffic stop, it was discovered the suspect had outstanding warrants. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Harris County Jail.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby regarding a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect had taken items from the victim’s front porch without consent.

Virtual Gate Hit 

An officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Holcombe in regard to a virtual gate camera system alert regarding a stolen trailer. Officers located the vehicle pulling the trailer and performed a felony traffic stop in the 2600 block of Holcome. After further investigation, it was discovered the occupants of the vehicle had recently purchased the trailer unaware that it was stolen. The occupants were released from the scene and the trailer was taken for safekeeping.

Forgery 

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in regard to a Forgery that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect forged the victim's check without consent.

Virtual Gate Hit 

An officer was dispatched to the 6900 block of Stella Link in regard to a virtual gate camera system alert regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and performed a felony traffic stop in the 6200 block of Weslayan and the driver was detained. The district attorney’s office ultimately denied charges and the driver was released from the scene.

Virtual Gate Hit 

An officer was dispatched to the 5000 block of Weslayan in regard to a virtual gate camera system alert regarding a wanted vehicle in connection to a West U case. Officers located the occupied vehicle and performed a traffic stop in it in the 5000 block of Kirby.  After further investigation, it was discovered the passenger of the vehicle was in possession of drug paraphernalia and had several open warrants out for their arrest. The passenger was placed in custody for the open warrants and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.

BMV

Officers in an unmarked vehicle observed a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle in progress in the 5100 block of Kirby. Officers request additional marked units to respond to the scene. While additional officers were en route the suspect was observed fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The marked units located the suspect in their vehicle and a high-risk traffic stop was conducted. The suspect (Melvin Stewart) was taken into custody and charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.

The suspect (Melvin Stewart) has a previous criminal history of:
