Through a federal grant, the City of West University Place was awarded funding to replace the existing road surface of Buffalo Speedway. The project area will consist of the entire roadway between Bissonnet and Bellaire Blvd/West Holcombe. The road surface replacement will consist of a four (4) undivided roadway in the location of the current road. As part of this project, the City will also be making improvements to the current drainage system.
The City has contracted with the engineering firm Freese and Nichols, Inc. who is responsible for the first phase of the project (Design portion). Over the next 13 months, you will begin to see utility companies painting the streets and sidewalks, as well as placement of wooden stakes or marking flags in the City’s Right of Way (ROW) at or near your property. Please do not remove or alter these markings for the duration of the property as they are necessary to indicate any potential conflicts underground and/or measure the area properly.

PUBLIC MEETINGS
The City will also host a total of three (3) meetings, two with property owners that face or have a side yard/driveway on Buffalo Speedway, and one will be a general public meeting.
The First Meeting will occur March - April 2019 and direct notice will be provided to adjacent residents and property owners. Additional information will be distributed as it is available for other meetings.
