Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month. A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the essential services that park and recreation professionals provide to communities across the U.S.
This month the West University Place Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating with the theme Where Community Grows for Parks and Recreation. All month long we’ll be highlighting ways our community is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation.
Join the West University Place Parks and Recreation Department for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how West University Place is a catalyst for positive change in service equity, climate-readiness, and overall health and well-being because of parks and recreation. A variety of activities are planned for residents of all ages and abilities — including the Independence Day Parade and Pool Party to kick off Park and Recreation Month and our newest event – the Christmas in July Members Only Pool Party to end the month-long celebration!
