[ARCHIVED] City Wide Drainage Study

In 2019, the City authorized the completion of a Citywide Drainage Modeling Study that evaluated and modeled existing conditions of the City's drainage system. The results indicated that the majority of the City has limited drainage capacity. The City is now taking action to improve the storm sewer system.

PER West Update 11/5/2021: Cobb Fendley continues to work on the preliminary engineering report for this project.  Progress was delayed due to discussions that would involve a potential new alignment for underground pipes. Staff and Cobb-Fendley continue to explore the new alignment options and will be completing further modeling and a feasibility study.  The scheduled workshop with Council originally scheduled in December has been rescheduled for early 2022.

PER East Update 11/05/2021: HDR has completed the preliminary engineering report.  Staff will be recommending City Council accept the report on 11/15/2021.  A draft copy is available at www.westutx.gov/studies.  Staff is currently working with HDR on completing a proposal to begin construction design for this project.  Award of design is scheduled for 12/13/2021.
