Unlawful Carry of a Weapon/ Tampering with Government Document 

An officer conducted at a traffic stop in the 5900 block of West Park Toll Rd.  Upon contact with the driver and through investigation, it was discovered the driver provided a fictious driver’s license. The driver was also found to be in possession of a handgun. The driver was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and tampering with a  government document. The driver, Joshua Davis, has criminal history for reckless driving.

An officer was dispatched to meet with an outside agency who had a subject detained with outstanding West University Place warrants. The officer took custody of the subject and was transported to the West University Jail for booking.

Possession of Marijuana/ Unlawful Carry of a Weapon

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable case search led to the discovery of drug paraphilia, marijuana, and a loaded handgun.  The driver was issued traffic citations and released, while the passenger, who had outstanding warrants, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The passenger, Tanner Gross, has criminal history for unlawful carry of a weapon.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Plumb. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable cause search led to the discovery of marijuana and a loaded handgun. The driver was arrested and charged with unlawful carry of a weapon. The driver, Kristopher Bowie, has no previous criminal history.

An officer was dispatched to the Wet University Place Police Department lobby in reference to a criminal mischief. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was discovered an unknown suspect caused damage to the front door of the victim’s property.

An officer was dispatched to the 3000 block of Quenby in reference to a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect took an item from the victim’s front porch without consent.

DWI 

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6100 block of Buffalo Speedway.  Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from or about the vehicle. The officer conducted a field sobriety test and the driver was subsequently taken into custody and charged with DWI. The driver, Francisco Espitia, has no previous criminal history.

Evading/Tampering with Evidence/ Interfering with Public Duties

Officers were dispatched to Lehigh/Fairmont in reference to two suspicious individuals who were looking into vehicles in the area. Officers located the suspects in the 5700 block of Community Dr. and ordered them to stop, but both refused. One suspect was detained after briefly resisting, while the other fled on foot. With assistance from the Bellaire and Southside Police Departments, and Houston’s K-9 unit, officers quickly set up a perimeter. The second suspect was located near the railroad tracks, hiding in shrubbery, and was apprehended. Further investigation led to the recovery of three abandoned handguns and a backpack containing several items. Suspect #1, Oscar Thompson, was charged with interfering with public duties and tampering with evidence, while Suspect #2, Shelton Foston, was charged with evading. 

 

Oscar Thompson has criminal history for criminal mischief and criminal trespass of a habitation while Shelton Foston has no criminal history.

Criminal Trespass

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Georgetown. When the vehicle stopped, the driver fled on foot, and the passenger was detained. A police perimeter was established to locate the driver, but the search was unsuccessful. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen, and inside it was a golf cart that had been stolen shortly before the stop. Both the vehicle and the golf cart were returned to their owners. The passenger was charged with criminal trespass, and an investigation is ongoing to identify the driver who fled. The passenger, James Pierre, has previous criminal history for theft (x4), unlawful carry of weapon (x3), robbery (x4), possession of a controlled substance (x5), burglary of a motor vehicle, driving while license is invalid (x3) failed to ID (x2), driving while intoxicated, delivery of a controlled substance, credit card abuse, and possession of marijuana.

Officers were dispatched to the 5800 block of Kirby Dr. in reference to a burglary of a building that had already occurred. Upon arrival and through investigation, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into numerous businesses taking items without consent.

The driver was arrested and charged with driving while license invalid. The driver, Jaime Alfaro, has a previous criminal history for driving while intoxicated (x3), driving while license suspended, and possession of marijuana.
