Beginning Monday, October 21, contractors will begin installing planters in the esplanades on Buffalo Speedway as part of the Buffalo Speedway Esplanades Project. During this time, the northbound lane of Buffalo Speedway at W. Holcombe Boulevard will be closed. The roadway will be reopened at the end of each work day. This work is anticipated to be completed within two weeks, weather permitting.

5/22/2024: The Buffalo Speedway Esplanades Project will begin today, May 22. This project involves beautification enhancements to two medians at the entry/exit points of the city. The improvements will include new pavers, irrigation systems, custom planters, and landscaping.
The first phase will consist of one lane closure on the southbound lane at Bissonnet and Buffalo Speedway. Once phase one has been completed, crews will move to the second phase which will consist of one lane closure on the northbound lane at Holcombe and Buffalo Speedway. Lane closures will reopen at the end of each day to minimize disruption. Residents should exercise caution around the construction site and abide by all traffic laws.
Work is anticipated to be completed by mid-September.
