Assist Outside Agency

Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Bissonnet in reference to an assault incident that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect and attempted to detain him. The suspect was non-compliant and an officer discharged their conducted energy weapon in attempt to gain control. The suspect then fled on foot but was ultimately taken into custody without incident. The suspect was referred to the Metro Police Department as the initial incident occurred on a Metro bus.

The complainant stated an unknown individual was observed inside a shed in the backyard of their property. An unknown suspect opened the business’s mailbox and removed mail without the owner’s consent. While conducting the investigation, the suspect (David Boyd) was located nearby, arrested and charged with Mail Theft. David Boyd has a criminal history of:

Weapon Violation

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Vanderbilt in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was located and through investigation, it was discovered the driver had multiple outstanding traffic warrants. The warrants were confirmed and the driver (Tony Chavis) was taken into custody. It was then discovered that the driver was in possession of a loaded handgun and was a convicted felon. The driver was charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon. Tony Chavis has a criminal history of:

Officers located the suspect nearby who was confirmed to be in possession of the victim’s mail. The victim declined to pursue criminal charges, the mail was returned and the suspect was released.
