Emergency Services

The West University Place Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the community with highly trained personnel and a quick and effective response to a wide variety of emergencies. WestU Firefighters are cross-trained as Firefighter/Paramedics to provide exceptional all-hazard emergency response.

The West University Place Fire Department operates an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance, a Fire Engine with ALS capabilities and a Command Unit. These units are staffed by full-time personnel 24/7.

The City maintains an ISO Class 1 rating (PDF), which is the best possible rating to keep your fire insurance premiums at a minimum.

Properties Scheduled for Demolition

The West University Place Fire Department is constantly striving to provide additional training opportunities for our personnel to train on structures typical to the ones in our response area. Structures scheduled for demolition are potentially the best classroom for our firefighters to conduct training simulations and scenarios. The West University Place Fire Department is asking property owners who may have a structure (residential or commercial) that is abandoned, vacant, or ready for demolition to allow firefighters to conduct training.
