April 4, 2020 - COVID-19 UPDATE – CHANGES TO HOW SOME CITY SERVICES ARE PROVIDED
As the issue and severity of COVID-19 virus continues to evolve, the City will be changing how some of our City services are provided to our customers. This effort is minimize the possibility of communal spread and to ensure continuity of City operations in providing those services.
These changes WILL NOT impact services for police, fire and public works (code enforcement, animal control, trash collection, water, drainage, sewer and streets).
Beginning Monday April 6, the City will initiate remote staffing for employees in Parks & Recreation, Senior Services, Human Resources, Financial Services, Utility Billing and Municipal Court. During certain days, there will be limited staff onsite to handle those functions that cannot be completed remotely.
Public Works is currently evaluating options that may include staggered shifts or alternating workdays, which should not impact service delivery.
The City strongly encourages resident to conduct business with the City remotely, either via the telephone or email. A complete list of numbers and email for staff are available on the City’s website at www.westutx.gov
|Administration & IT||713-662-5813|
|Finance & Utility Billing||713-662-5824|
|Fire Department (non-emergency)||713-662-5835|
|Police Department (non-emergency)||713-668-0330|
While we do not envision these changes will cause any delay in the superior services we strive to provide, there may be occasions where responses are delayed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
