BITCOIN SCAM

scam

The West University Place Police Department has recently received several calls regarding a Bitcoin scam letter received through postal mail. The letter is an extortion attempt and demands that a sum of money (in some instances, thousands of dollars) be sent to the scammer via Bitcoin in exchange for keeping the secrets that the scammer threatens to expose to the victim’s family and friends. Be aware that this letter is a scam – DO NOT send any money or Bitcoin to the scammer.
