The West University Place Parks & Recreation Department will host its 30th annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of the Community Building, located at 6104 Auden St., Monday, December 3, at 5:30 pm.
“Since this is the 30th anniversary, we’re planning a memorable evening residents won’t want to miss,” said Parks and Recreation Director Susan White. “Everyone is invited to join us as we kick off the holiday season with one of the best West University Place traditions.”
Activities include performers from the Parks & Recreation Tippie Toes dance class, a professional ice sculptor, cookie decorating and much more. Winners of the Holiday Coloring Contest will be announced during the ceremony. A special appearance by Santa Claus will add to the holiday cheer.
To make the event even more special, the first 500 families will receive a commemorative 30th Anniversary ornament.
Holiday Coloring Contest entries are due on Wednesday November 28. To download the entry rules and coloring page, or for more information on the event, visit www.westutx.gov/events or call the Parks and Recreation Department at (713) 662-7420.
