[ARCHIVED] National Prescription Drug Take Back Program

dispose unused RX

Do  you have unused prescriptions you no longer take and need to dispose of? The City of Bellaire and The Drug Enforcement Administration is hosting a Drug Take Back program on Saturday April 28. This event is open to the public.

Unused prescription drugs thrown out in the trash can be retrieved and abused or illegally sold.  Unused drugs that are flushed have the potential to contaminate the local water supply.  Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment.

DATE: Saturday, April 28, 2018

DROP OFF HOURS: 10AM – 2PM

LOCATION: Bellaire Police Department

                    7008 S. Rice

                    Bellaire, TX 77401

Take-back programs are the best way to dispose of old drugs.  But if a program is not available:

  • Take the meds out of their bottles;
  • Mix them with something unappealing like used kitty litter or coffee grounds;
  • As a last resort, seal them in a bag or disposable container and throw them away.

If this date is not convenient for you, please click here to see other facilities hosting Take Back events
