A second and FINAL sweep for all storm related debris material will start on Monday September 25 between the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The contractor will have personnel surveying the entire City to note locations of debris material. All storm related debris MUST be placed curbside no later than 7:00 AM on Monday September 25 to ensure it is accounted for to be collected. Depending on the amount of volume remaining, the contractors may complete the second sweep before the end of the week. (Please do not wait to place out material after Monday.) Any storm debris placed out after the completion of the second/final sweep will not be collected by the City and will the responsibility of the property owner to dispose of, including cost.
If you are unable to have your debris out by Monday September 25 at 7 AM, please contact General Services Superintendent Gerardo Barrera no later than Monday via email firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-662-5845.
As a reminder, please note the following:
- All debris is to be placed curbside within the Right-of-Way, which is between the property line and the street. Any debris placed on private property will not be picked up. Please keep the roadway and sidewalks as clear as possible.
- Do not mix storm related debris with household garbage, recycling or yard waste. Please keep them separated.
- Do not park vehicles in front of debris piles and/or avoid parking in the street on dead end streets during collection.
COLLECTION OF CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DEBRIS
All construction and demolition debris should be placed separate from your regular household trash.
- Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D) - wood, metal, drywall, shingles, as well as building contents and personal property – furnishings, clothing, etc.
COLLECTON OF ALL OTHER MATERIALS
There will also be a FINAL sweep for materials listed below. Any items placed out after the final sweep is completed will not be collected by the City.
- Vegetative Debris – trees, limbs, etc.
- Appliances and White Goods – refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc.
- Electronics – computers, radios, televisions, other devices with a cord.
- Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) – Oil-based paints, lawn chemicals, cleaning supplies, etc.
Please note that this is the FINAL sweep for all storm related debris. There will be no future City provided collection for storm debris material. All storm related debris after this sweep will be the responsibility of the property owner to dispose of and will not be collected with your normal household trash service.
