[ARCHIVED] West U Fire Dept sponsors Tots for Tots collection

Toys for Tots logo

It is said that Christmas is for children --- the sights, sounds and presents make even the smallest faces light up. But not all children experience the season in that way. Hard times may make the difference in their Christmas season, but you can help.

During the 2016 holiday season, the City of West University Place has partnered with the United States Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program. The objective of this program is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas. The program allows communities to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources --- our children!

For three months each year, the annual toy collection/distribution brings members of a community together for a common cause. It allows us to contribute to making a child's life brighter while showing them that they are valued. Those children grow up to strengthen our communities in the future,

While you out this season shopping for family and friends, please pick up an extra gift or two for a child who may otherwise not have anything under the tree. Bring your unwrapped presents to any of our collection sites from now until 5 pm Friday, December 9. We guarantee that it will put a smile on your face and joy in your heart.

Collection sites are available at:
Municipal Building (City Hall), 3800 University Blvd
West U Senior Services, 6104 Auden
West U Rec Center, 4210 Bellaire Blvd.
West U Fire Department, 3800 University Blvd.
