The West University Place Parks Board, Friends of West University Place Parks Fund Inc. Board and the Senior Board, on behalf of all West University Place residents, will be hosting the inaugural WUP First Responder Appreciation & Public Safety Awareness Day.
Peter Billipp, Parks Board member and event chairman, invites every West University Place resident to show support and thanks to the City’s Police and Fire Department personnel on Saturday, November 19, from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The event will be held on the west end of Colonial Park at the newly redeveloped green space.
The event is free to the public and will include a hot dog or hamburger lunch w/ KONA ice snow cone for dessert, live music featuring the “Trey Clark Band”, a brief presentation honoring WUP first responders and the WUP Citizens-Emergency-Response-Team (CERT), caricature artist, face painting and balloon artist. In addition, Fire and Police Department personnel and various vehicles will be available for the public to engage and enjoy.
