07/02/202121-0528Identity TheftAt 11:23 AM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a case of identity theft.  The victim said an unknown person(s) used her personal identifying information to open a fraudulent TXU energy account.

21-0529Burglary of Motor VehicleAt 1:47 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 4100 block of Milton for a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle that already occurred. The victim advised that an unknown suspect(s) entered his unsecured vehicle and rummaged through his glove compartment and center arm console and removed his wallet without consent.

At approximately 2:30 PM, an officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 3900 block of Arnold in reference to a delayed BMV. The victim said that an unknown subject(s) entered both of his vehicles removing items.

21-0531Theft At 5:05 PM, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway in reference to a theft that had already occurred.  The victim said a contractor she had hired removed some items from her garage without her consent.
07/02/202121-0535Found PropertyAt 7:52 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the police station lobby in reference to a found property report. The items were taken for safekeeping until the owner can be located.
07/03/202121-0533Driving While Intoxicated

At 02:41 AM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while northbound in the 6300 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted and after further investigation, the driver (Chenera Lanique Johnson) was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

At 03:24 AM, officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to the area of Weslayan and Marquette St. in reference to a suspicious vehicle call. Upon arrival, officers located a disabled vehicle matching the description. After further investigation, the driver (Kimberly Janeth Mendoza Celis) was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

0704/202121-0537Found Property At approximately 2:46 PM, an officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 3900 block of Rice in reference to found property. The officer arrived and collected the item submitting it for safekeeping.

TheftAt approximately 07:08 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 5300 block of Kirby to speak with a complainant in regards to suspicious activity. The complainant stated that they believe a catalytic converter may have been stolen from a commercial vehicle located in the parking lot. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the catalytic converter was stolen. Information was gathered and a report for theft was generated.

07/07/202121-0541TheftAt approximately 07:23 AM, an officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 3200 block of Pittsburg in reference to theft of a motor vehicle. After further investigation, it was revealed that the vehicle was taken by an unknown person(s) without the owner’s permission. A report was generated for the stolen vehicle.
07/07/202121-0543Burglary of BuildingAt about 2:08 PM, an officer was flagged down by a mail carrier in reference to a house in the 2600 block of Arbuckle with its front door open for about an hour.  Officers checked the house which is under remodeling construction and did not find anything to be missing.
