The City of West University Place has scheduled selective city-wide mosquito spraying over the next three (3) weeks.  Treatment sprayings will be completed Thursday nights between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the following dates:

  • Thursday June 10
  • Thursday June 17
  • Thursday June 24

In cases of rain on any scheduled day, sprayings will be completed the next night. (i.e. Thursday night rain, spraying moves to Friday night).

Please be aware that the spray is spread by air circulation and may not reach your sides and/or backyards.

Your continued assistance is requested in helping to minimize mosquito breeding areas in and around your home by doing the following:

  • Remove/empty containers that can hold water, such as, flower pots, buckets, toys, and plastic swimming pools.
  • Outdoor bird baths and pet water bowls should be changed at least twice a week.
  • Keep rain gutters clean and free of debris to prevent standing water.
  • Repair leaks in irrigation system to prevent moist/damp areas in your yard.

More information regarding mosquito control can be found by visiting westutx.gov/mosquito.

If you have any questions concerning West U's spraying, please contact the Public Works Department at 713-662-5839 or pwinfo@westutx.gov.
