Traffic Update 8/27/2021: On August 30th, the contractor (SER Construction) is scheduled to begin the traffic switch for Phase 4 of the Buffalo Speedway Project. The switch will consist of temporarily closing the inner northbound and southbound lanes of Buffalo Speedway. This will shift traffic to the outside northbound and southbound lanes until the end of the day.
On August 31st, the traffic switch will consist of both northbound lanes from University Blvd. to Bissonnet St. to be closed diverting to a single lane of travel in each direction on the southbound side of Buffalo Speedway. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place until January 2022. During the traffic switch crews will be working on the underground drainage and replacement of the roadway pavement. Drivers should expect delays during this time.
The East side of Jarrard & Georgetown will temporarily not have access onto Buffalo Speedway.
City staff is working with the contractor to mitigate impacts and inform property owners and the public ahead of time.
