11/19/202020-P-0605Burglary of Motor VehicleAt 08:55 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Amherst in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The victim said her unsecured Expedition was parked in her driveway. She said an unknown person(s) stole a pair of sunglasses at approximately 02:35 AM.
11/19/202020-P-0606Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon

At approximately 9:15 PM, an officer observed a vehicle failing to display a front license plate while traveling southbound in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was then conducted in the 6800 block of Buffalo Speedway. After further investigation, it was discovered that the passenger was in possession of marijuana and a loaded handgun. The passenger (Gregory Melancon) was arrested for the Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon without incident.

11/21/202020-P-0607ForgeryAt approximately 1:21 PM, an Officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the PD to meet with a resident concerning fraud. The officer met with the victim, obtaining required information.
11/21/202020-P-0608Burglary of Motor VehicleAn officer was dispatched to the police station lobby in regards to a burglary of a motor vehicle that already occurred.  Upon arrival and through investigation, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) entered an unsecured vehicle and took items without consent.  The incident occurred between 10:00 PM on 11/20/20 and 11:30 AM on 11/21/2020.
11/21/202020-P-0609Evading/Harassment of a Peace Officer

At 11:18 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 5500 block of Belmont with a defective third brake light. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle evaded and a pursuit was initiated. The driver exited the vehicle and ran on foot, but was eventually apprehended. The driver (Jose Albert Guevara) was taken into custody for evading in a motor vehicle and attempted harassment on a peace officer.

11/22/202020-P-0610Found PropertyAt approximately 08:32 AM, an Officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 2800 block of Wroxton in reference to found property. The officer arrived and collected the item submitting it for safekeeping.
11/22/202020-P-0611Driving While Intoxicated

At approximately 09:27 PM, officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to the 6000 block of Stella Link in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle and upon further investigation it was discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver (Jesus Yat) was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

11/23/202020-P-0612Attempted Burglary of Motor VehicleAt approximately 11:12 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of West Holcombe in reference to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle that already occurred. An unknown male was observed inside of the victim's vehicle but when confronted, the unknown male fled in a silver sedan.  A report was generated.
11/23/202020-P-0619Found PropertyAt approximately 5:30 PM, an officer located a Texas Identification Card on the ground at the front entrance of the West University Place Police Station.
11/24/202020-P-0613Police Information ReportAt 04:05 AM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a naked individual in the lobby. The victim was transported and admitted to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
11/24/202020-P-0614TheftAn officer spoke with a victim who wished to report a theft of a bicycle that occurred in the 6300 block of Sewanee on November 23, 2020. The information was gathered and a report was generated.
11/24/202020-P-0615Identity TheftAt approximately 12:09 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department to speak with a complainant. The complainant stated that an unknown person(s) used their identifying information to file for unemployment benefits. A report for identity theft was generated.
11/24/202020-P-0616TheftAt approximately 2:40 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to a report of Theft, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) stole two packages from his front porch. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
11/24/202020-P-0617FraudAn officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of Riley Street for a complaint of Credit Card Abuse that already occurred. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
11/24/202020-P-0618Driving While Intoxicated

At approximately 9:45 PM, officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to the 3800 block of Marquette in reference to a crash and vehicle leaving the scene. Officers located the vehicle and upon further investigation it was discovered that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver (Brandon Jamil Scott) was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and failure to stop and give information.
