An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in regards to an ID Theft that already occurred.  Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s personal information to open a credit card without consent.

10/29/202020-P-0546Identity TheftAt 1:30 PM, an officer with the West University Police Department was dispatched to the PD lobby, 3800 University, in reference to an ID theft. The victim said an unknown subject used her personal identifying information to obtain unemployment benefits and open a small business loan.
10/30/202020-P-0547Police Information ReportAt approximately 12:50 AM, an officer observed a vehicle parked at a local park, in the 6400 block of West Point, with its running lights still active. As the officer turned his patrol unit around to further investigate the vehicle, the vehicle in question backed out of the parking spot and started to drive away. As the officer attempted to follow and get closer to obtain a license plate, the vehicle started to drive fast and evade. A pursuit was initiated, but was subsequently terminated due to losing sight of the vehicle.
10/30/202020-P-0548Police Information ReportAt approximately 4:03 AM, officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of Vanderbilt in regards to a domestic disturbance. 
10/30/202020-P-0549Burglary of BuildingAt 5:39 AM, officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm belonging to a retail store in the 5300 block of Kirby.  Upon arrival, the front door had been smashed.  Officers made entry into the store and were unable to locate any suspect(s).
10/30/202020-P-0550TheftAt 11:36 AM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a theft case. The victim, via phone, said the suspect stole multiple rings from her home sometime between 03/15/2020 at night to 03/16/2020.
10/30/202020-P-0551ID TheftAt approximately 1:32 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to an Identity Theft call, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to attempt to establish a credit line with Home Depot, without his permission. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
10/31/202020-P-0552TheftAt 5:45 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a theft report case. The victim advised of someone who removed property from their front patio. A theft report was generated.
10/31/202020-P-0553Found Property At approximately 11:37 PM, an officer discovered an abandoned bicycle and scooter in the 6200 block of Edloe. The bicycle and scooter were submitted into storage after failing to locate the owners in the immediate area.
11/01/202020-P-0554Evading on FootAt 12:31 AM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department observed a black SUV and a white two door coupe run a stop sign while turning east from the 5800 block of Lake St on to the 2600 block of Tangley St. Before the officer could initiate a traffic stop on the SUV its passenger exited the vehicle and began running south in the 5800 block of Kirby. A short time later another officer conducted a traffic stop on the two door coupe in the 2600 block of Fenwood St and it’s a passenger exited the vehicle and evaded from the traffic stop on foot. The suspect who fled was unable to be located and the drivers of the vehicles were cited and released.
11/01/202020-P-0555Major Accident At 12:21 PM, an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Browning and Weslayan in reference to a major accident. Upon the officer’s arrival, both vehicles involved had major damage. The driver of one of the units was unresponsive and later determined deceased by a medic.
11/02/202020-P-0556ID TheftAn officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in regards to an ID Theft that already occurred.  Upon arrival and through investigation, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s personal information to open a credit card without consent.
11/02/202020-P-0557ID TheftAn officer spoke with a victim of identity theft.  The victim said unknown persons used his identity to apply for a Small Business Association loan.
11/02/202020-P-0558Evading

At 11:40 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department observed a vehicle traveling westbound at the 4100 block of Bissonnet with no front license plate. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle evaded and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle eventually stopped and the driver (Jonathan Josue Lopez) was taken into custody for evading in a motor vehicle.

11/03/202020-P-0559Police Information ReportAt approximately 3:07 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Brompton in regards to an activated alarm. Complainants provided the officer with video footage of a subject entering the private property. Information was gathered and after further investigation, an informational report was generated.
11/03/202020-P-0560ForgeryAt approximately 11:31 AM, an officer with the city of West University Place police department was dispatch to the PD to meet with a resident concerning fraud. The officer met with the victim obtaining required information.
11/03/202020-P-0561ID TheftAn officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in regards to an ID Theft that already occurred.  Upon arrival and through investigation, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s personal information to open a credit card without consent.
11/04/202020-P-0562Burglary of Building At 2:22 AM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby Dr., in reference to a possible robbery. The victim advised an unknown male subject made entry into the business without consent and fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. A Burglary of a Building report was generated.
11/04/202020-P-0563FraudAt 9:33 AM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a case of fraud. The victim said an individual returned her call from Norton Security and scammed her out of several hundred dollars.
11/04/202020-P-0564TheftAt approximately 12:33 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 3800 block of Rice, to speak with a complainant, in regards to a theft that already occurred. The complainant stated that someone stole mail from her mailbox.
11/04/202020-P-0565ForgeryAt approximately 3:08 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to a Forgery, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) stole and forged several of her personal checks. Information was gathered and a report was generated.
11/04/202020-P-0566ID TheftAt 3:36 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a case of identity theft. The victim said an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to open a credit account.
11/04/202020-P-0567Burglary of Motor VehicleAt approximately 8:29 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby Dr. in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that already occurred. Upon further investigation, it was discovered an unknown person(s) entered the owner's vehicle and removed item(s) without the owner's effective consent. A burglary of a motor vehicle report was generated.
