 At approximately 3:56 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to an Identity Theft, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to file for Pandemic Unemployment benefits out of the state of Arkansas. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

Reckless Driving At approximately 10:49 PM, officers observed a group of motorists recklessly driving westbound in the area of University Blvd and Weslayan St. Officers attempted to catch up but to no avail. All subjects eluded officers. A reckless driving report was generated.

An officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the PD in reference to a report of an identity theft. The victim's personal identifying information was fraudulently used to open a credit card account.

20-P-0512Driving While Intoxicated

At 11:28 PM, officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to the 6600 block of Stella Link in reference to a one vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the driver was found to have left the scene but was subsequently located nearby. After further investigation, the driver (Alfredo Edgardo Lara-Ascencio) was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

At approximately 12:28 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 4200 block of Lehigh in reference to a disturbance.

Theft

At approximately 4:40 PM, a police officer was dispatched to the 5500 block of Kirby, in regards to a citizen, who found two opened packages on the property. It was discovered that the two opened boxes belonged to citizens from a nearby business. The packages were stolen from a business located in the 5600 block of Kirby. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

At approximately 5:02 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the PD lobby, in reference to an ID theft. Dispatch advised the victim’s identifying information was used in attempt to unlawfully obtain unemployment benefits.

10/15/202020-P-0517Burglary of Motor Vehicle

At approximately 7:57 AM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department was dispatched to 2900 Georgetown, in reference to a BMV. An unknown subject(s) entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack containing a laptop.

10/15/202020-P-0518Burglary of Motor Vehicle At 7:34 AM, an officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of Quenby in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle.  The victim said an unknown person(s) entered her unsecured vehicle between 6:04 AM and 7:15 AM and rummaged throughout the vehicle taking multiple credit cards and money.
10/15/202020-P-0519Police Information An officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of Bissonnet for a report of a Fail to Stop and Give Information crash.  The victim said his vehicle was struck on Saturday 10-10-20 while parked on Bissonnet.  
10/15/202020-P-0520Identity TheftAt 12:47 PM an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in regards to an ID Theft that already occurred.  Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect(s) used the victim’s personal information to file for unemployment without consent.
