20-P-0449Burglary of Motor Vehicle 

At 8:43 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 5300 block of Kirby in reference to a burglary of a vehicle that had already occurred. An unknown suspect made forced entry into the victim’s vehicle and removed an item without their effective consent. An offense report for Burglary of a Vehicle was generated.

Driving While Intoxicated At 11:43 PM an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while southbound in the 6400 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted and after further investigation, the driver Margaret Ann Charles was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

At approximately 12:04 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby to speak with a complainant via telephone, in regards to their identity being stolen by unknown person(s). A report for identity theft was generated.

A West University Place Police Officer was dispatched to the station for an ID Theft complaint. It was advised that an unknown suspect used the victim’s personal information to file for unemployment and an SBA loan. An Identity theft report was generated.

20-P-0453Identity TheftAt approximately 4:57 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to an Identity Theft, which had already occurred. The victim stated an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to apply for a small business loan, but was unsuccessful. The victim further stated an unknown person(s) used his wife’s personal information in an attempt to withdraw $4,000.00 from their Chase Bank account. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

At approximately 12:42 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby to speak with a complainant, in regards to their identity being stolen by unknown person(s). A report for identity theft was generated.

An officer was dispatched to 6600 block of Brompton Street for a report of a burglary of a motor vehicle. It was reported that several items were taken out of an unlocked vehicle. A report was generated.

TheftAt approximately 1:03 PM, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Brompton in regard to a theft that had just occurred. Dispatch advised that an unknown male had just stolen a package from the front porch of a home. Upon arrival in the area, a male subject was located sitting on the curb with two packages. Further investigation led to the subsequent arrest of the subject (Lamont Simpson) and thefts charges filed.

At approximately 4:00 PM, a police officer was dispatched to 3800 University, in regards to an Identity Theft, which had already occurred. The victim advised an unknown person(s) used his personal identifying information to file for unemployment benefits with the Texas Workforce Commission. Information was gathered and a report was generated.

09/20/202020-P-0458Burglary of Motor Vehicle/Evading

At approximately 04:11 AM, an officer observed several subjects entering vehicles without the owner’s effective consent. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects and two out of the three suspects fled on foot. Two suspects (Wytisey Williams & Davontee Lashawn Swearingen) were apprehended and subsequently charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, evading on foot, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

09/20/202020-P-0459Found PropertyAt approximately 10:08 AM, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 6600 block of Brompton in regard to a report of found property. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown person had left 3 small books on the ground near the back porch of the residence. The residence is currently vacant and under construction. A report for found property was generated.
09/21/202020-P-0461Identity Theft At approximately 10:28 AM, an officer with the City of West University Place police department obtained an in station report for ID Theft.
09/22/202020-P-0462Identity TheftAt 2:03 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department in reference to a case of identity theft.  The victim said an unknown person(s) used her personal identifying information to open two fraudulent bank accounts.
09/22/202020-P-0463EvadingAt approximately 6:35 PM, officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Weslayan in regards to a disabled vehicle. Officers activated emergency lighting equipment and attempted to conduct a welfare check/investigative stop, but the vehicle fled the scene. Driver and vehicle arrived to a residence in the 4000 block of McDermed in Houston, Harris County, TX. Information was gathered, a report was generated, and a To-Be Warrant was composed.
09/23/202020-P-0464Identity TheftAt approximately 10:27 AM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department, 3800 University Blvd., in regard to a report of identity theft. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown person had utilized the reportee’s personal information to fraudulently order items from Amazon (online). A report for identity theft was generated.
