At approximately 2:02 PM, an officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby to speak with a complainant via telephone, in regards to their identity being stolen by unknown person(s). A report for identity theft was generated.

At approximately 2:32 PM, an officer with the City of West University Place Police Department was dispatched to the 2700 block of Nottingham in reference to a burglary of a motor vehicle that had already occurred. The complainant said that an unknown subject had entered his unsecured vehicle that was parked on the roadway.
|08/16/2020||20-P-0386||Possession of Drug Paraphernalia||At 12:49 PM, an officer with the West University Place Police Department observed a vehicle stopped in a moving lane of traffic with the driver asleep behind the wheel. Upon further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. A citation was issued and the driver was released without incident.|

At approximately 9:27 PM, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 6600 block of Buffalo Speedway with no front license plate. The officer then observed the vehicle fail to signal when changing lanes in the 6700 block of Buffalo Speedway. The vehicle was also observed to have a defective license plate light in the 6800 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was then conducted on the vehicle in the 3200 block of Bellefontaine. After further investigation, it was discovered that the driver was in possession of marijuana and a handgun. The driver (Ray Lee Williams) was arrested for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

|08/19/2020||20-P-0389|| Forgery||An officer was dispatched to meet a victim of a forgery in the police department lobby, 3800 University Blvd. The victim said checking information was forged onto another check and cashed.|
|08/19/2020||20-P-0390||Burglary of Habitation ||At approximately 5:41 PM, officers were dispatched to the 6600 block of Brompton in regards to an in progress burglary of habitation. An officer met with the victim who stated that an unknown person’s entered the residence without the owner’s effective consent and stole a bike from the garage. Information was gathered and a report was generated.|
