Mosquito Control

The City of West University Place monitors mosquito activity through information provided by the Harris County Mosquito and Vector Control Division. The City contracts with a third-party pest control service to complete one weekly treatment spraying. 

West University Place Mosquito Spraying Schedule 

• Days weekly spraying could occur: Sunday - Saturday 
• Time spraying could occur: 8:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

• On the evening of the scheduled spraying, the City's vendor assesses the conditions to determine whether mosquito spraying will proceed as planned. If weather conditions are not suitable for spraying, it may be rescheduled to an alternate day.

Harris County Mosquito and Vector Control

Harris County conducts regular monitoring year-round for mosquito-borne diseases, including Saint Louis Encephalitis (SLE) and West Nile Virus (WNV). If the County detects either of these diseases, it will start spraying the affected areas.

• Months sprayed: Year-round (as needed based on disease activity)
• Days weekly spraying could occur: Sunday - Thursday
• Time spraying could occur: 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
