West University Place Police Department is certified as a Contractual Training Provider through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). As a provider, we offer in-service training courses throughout the year to include but not limited to:

Dogs and Police, Shoot or Don't Shoot

Dog calls for police officers can create problems for all parties involved. Use of force in dog calls is a serious problem and police officers must be trained in the basic knowledge of how to approach dogs in general.
